Besides for Condemned 84's "Battle scarred" few debut albums have ever surpassed expectations as far as the Cockney Rejects did. Retaliator take "Greatest hits Vol 1" and wipe their arse with it ! 15 songs = 15 highlights, every one as strong as the next. Play it in the schools, play it to your kids, play it in the youth clubs, close the airports, brick up the Channel Tunnel, scuttle the ferries - "Order of Chaos" is the New Testament of Oi! and you SHALL obey! (by Benny - Carry No Banners fanzine).

The band that became Retaliator was formed in Great Yarmouth, England in 1995 under the name of Outburst. The first demo "Crusade" was recorded on August Bank Holiday 1996 and was received well in punk & Oi! circles. Soon after releasing this tape Outburst changed their name to Retaliator.
The band were soon offered an album deal which due to bad timing was lost when they suffered a split. The remaining band members persevered and soon started gigging locally and went on to record the "Feel The Power" demo which was later on released by Data Records as a 7" EP in 1998. The band had many line-up changes around this time.

Following a very drunk night in Bruges, they were offered an album deal, this time on "Pure-Impact". The album "Order of Chaos" was recorded in the summer of 1999.

The year 2000 was quite successful for Retaliator and saw them play several gigs home and abroad. In the fall they also recorded their second album for Pure-Impact which is entitled "Against the Grain", more powerful and better than the first one even.

2001 saw the release of "Against the Grain" and the band appeared on several compilation albums. They also got to play the now infamous "Holidays in the Sun" festival in Morecambe, England. Other bands that played included Cock Sparrer, Discipline, Cockney Rejects etc…

January 2002, and the band released the "Patriotic Alcoholics" EP, followed by more gigs in Europe. The summer of 2002 saw the band release a split album called "Kick Down That Fuckin Wall…" with Scottish band Bakers Dozen. The band then took a break to sort out some line-up changes.

2003 and Retaliator are back! Recording and releasing their third 7" single "The Sweeney" and playing a load of gigs including Norway and Italy. They are now writing their third album which will hopefully be released in 2004.
